I Wanna Bake Sweets

February 18, 2010

I grew up making cupcakes in boring, pastel-colored liners.  Of course those days are long gone.  I came across Bake it Pretty via Marta Writes and was absolutely amazed by the new, seemingly endless options to make baking pretty.  I am loving the bright colors and patterns.

Not into cupcakes?  They also have a pretty great selection cookie cutters on their site too. (I'm especially smitten with the bottom two :) )

I would love to put some of these items to use- I just need to think up a good excuse to purchase them.....

Liberty of London for Target

February 17, 2010

(otherwise known as A Dream Come True)
I have long lusted after the gorgeous (and quite expensive) fabrics Liberty produces.

Which is why I was ecstatic to learn that Liberty of London will be debuting a line of products for Target in just 25 days!

Looks like some of those remaining wedding gift cards will soon serve their purpose!  I can't wait to scoop up some of these goodies next month... so, if you're looking for me on March 14th, you know where I'll be!

Is anyone else excited about this fabulous pairing?

A Modern House...

February 11, 2010

...for your pet.
While browsing for some indoor/outdoor dog houses for our dear basset hound Kingsley, I found these two that I fell in love with.
Hand-made and modern?  Yes please- this one is available here.  I love that it is versatile and blends into the decor naturally.  Of course, Kingsley would need something a little larger, but I think it is definitly something that could be done (maybe by me?  because I surely can't afford this one).

I love the roof planters on these two.  Perfect for the season, no?

What would your "dream" pet house be?

A Few of My Favorite Things

January 25, 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was filled with a lovely dinner with friends, a baby shower (for the first girl in my group of non-virtual friends to be pregnant!), an awesome birthday party, and a relaxing day at home with my husband....during which we ate some of our left over wedding cake to celebrate the 3-month mark.  While I'm still finishing up my big project (and therefore have no pictures to share :( ), I thought I would share a few of my favorite beauty products at the moment...

Parissa Wax Strips

I've recently transitioned from tweezing to waxing my brows (..primarily to prep for my wedding) and I love these wax strips!  I've also tried Sally Hansen's waxing strips and these are so much easier to use and more effective, IMO.  You can find them at my favorite store, Target.

CO Bigelow gloss

I'm normally a fan of Burt's and usually wear it on a regular basis, but this lip gloss runs a close second as my favorite lip application.  It's minty, leaves my lips feeling nice and smooth, and provides the perfect amount of tint (I use the pink mint variety).  This is the first product I've tried from this brand and would love to test out some of their other products since I'm so smitten with this one.  You can find it at Bath and Body works.

Neutragena Dry-Touch Sunblock

I looooove this sunscreen.  I try to wear sunscreen every day, but it's an absolute must during the summers here in Texas.  I've tried a ton of sunscreen products and I really like how 1) this product doesn't leave me in a greasy mess and 2) it doesn't emit a strong odor.  Although it takes a little longer to rub in than other brands, I am super happy with this find.  It also helps that the spf is high and ensures protection against UVA and UVB rays.  It can be found at most grocery and drugs stores.

Wonderful Weekend

January 11, 2010

This weekend, X and I started a long list of projects that will hopefully prep our house to be sold sometime mid-year.  While X focused on some much needed yard work (pulling weeds and replacing fence boards), I stayed warm and cozy inside cleaning out and organizing my craft room.  Now that (most of) my left over wedding supplies are stashed away, I can't wait to start on some new projects that are buzzing around in my head.  Here are a few that I want to start on-

Make use of my new dressform

X surprised me with a dressform for Christmas.  I have a few skirts and a shirt I've been wanting to make for a while- now I may actually get them finished!

Decorate my Calender

Back in December I entered one of the fun giveaways on m.writes, and I actully won this cute little calender.  I have a big supply of embroidery thread that needs to be used, and I think this project will be perfect for it.  The calender will hang in my craft room, of course.

Wishing everyone a happy Monday and a great week!
