Obsessed with Chirp

November 19, 2009

When X & I started a gift registery almost ten months ago for our wedding, I fell completely head over heels in love with this china:

"Chirp" by Lenox

Luckily my now husband lets me make most of the decor decisions around here and he let me have my dream y china.  I was a little concerned that it might be too colorful or not fancy enough, but I think I may love it even more today than I did ten months ago!  It was brought to my attention that they have actually expanded the line to include the following items (that I want need to buy right. now.):

I always enjoy my coffee or tea a little more when it is served in a tall mug.

Birds + salt & pepper shakers? Yes, please.

This hot cocoa mug and matching spoon would be the perfect pick-me-up on a cold, winter day.

We still need a set of these anyway, it would be nice if they matched our china.

This teapot is too cute to need any explanation.

A perfect ornamen t choice for our first Christmas as a married couple.

And finally, I came across this creation on decor8, from Etsy seller FaireHoure.  All of her clocks are really beautiful, but I was obviously drawn to this one.

101 in 1001- An Early New Year's Resolution

November 18, 2009

I thought a good way to kick off my post-wedding blog and a new chapter in my life was with this challenge, which was inspired by these lovely ladies (and fellow Bees): Kate, Brooke, & Krista

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Start Date: November 18, 2009
End Date: August 15, 2012
